I had great plans for this challenge. I was going to take a picture of my great-grandfather's navy medals (he fought in WWII and was a career sailor). Unfortunately, it didn't happen, due to a number of which, not the least of which was that my mom fell down the stairs Sunday afternoon (5 weeks after shoulder surgery, while she's still in a sling). My great plans will have to wait for another challenge. I loved everyone else's photos though!

So here's the voting rundown for this challenge. I want you to vote first for the most inspiring photo, and also for the best overall. Don't forget any and all shoutouts!

(And if I don't get the votes up early Tuesday morning, I'll do it later in the afternoon/evening. I fly home Tuesday, and finally get to see my husband after nearly two weeks!!)

Okay everyone, I have to say that I AM SO impressed with your pictures this time around! Seems like there was a GREAT amount of submissions and such good talent! I feel so inspired--not only with photography, but by all the things that summer IS! :)

I'm pre-posting this so that I have one less thing to do today. I'm headed out of town to my parents' house, and I just don't want to deal with having to get this post up in the morning. Not like you needed to know all that.

Well, this was a tough challenge. I kept drawing a blank. I had very limited ideas, and none o them were good, so I didn't post (or even take) a picture at all. It looks like a lot of you might have been in the same boat; we didn't have many entries.
