Less Time

Do you fell like you have LESS, and LESS time with your kids?? My daughter started preschool, which leaves me with only one child at home for a few hours each day. I feel like with all my kids, they grow way to fast.

This isn't the best picture, but the only one I got. I've been really bad at picking up my camera lately. I hope I can get better at it!!!

Gears and Spokes

My two older kids got bikes today for their birthdays. I got lots of cool looking shots, but this was my favorite. The wheels must circulate in order for you to ride.

Emotion

I've been MIA the past few weeks. Life has just been busy. The kids softball, school being over, camping trips... We've finally settled for awhile.

The emotion of a song. Songs can have lots of emotions in them from angry, sadness, love, happiness. I love the emotions of my husband when he plays his guitar, and the emotions it gives me to see him play.

This picture was taken in auto mode due to the fact that I waited till 10:00 to take it. The specs are....F5, 1/60, ISO 400.

Change

Loose change.(looks like Janelle and I had the same idea.) I was taking some pictures of a pile of change when my 4 year old wanted to play with it. I got this shot, and thought it added a bit more interest.

Shot in manual, natural lighting, f5.6, 1/25, iso 200. I added a vignette, and adjusted the lighting.

The Cool Down

What's better than a popsicle on a HOT day?

I had a hard time with this one. I has so many ideas!! I took pictures of our dinner cooking on the grill, my kids cooling off in the bath, and a bunch of popsicle eating kids! My chicken ones turned out good, but I didn't want to use them, My bathtub ones were, well, kids in the tub, and the popsicle ones were just plan messy. This one stood out to me because it wasn't just a shot of a kid eating a popsicle. (although I got a cute one of my boy) This brings me back to my childhood and eating lots, and lots of popsicles in one sitting. (which I can still do) They are an easy way to cool down on a hot summer day, or here in sunny AZ, a hot spring day. :)

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Nothing says vintage to me this weekend except baseball. I took my kids to the local little league park before the opening ceremonies to get some pictures. I love how in this one they are looking out into the field, like they are dreaming of the big leagues.

Take it Easy

For this challenge I first thought of this old truck that sits on our "Standing on the Corner" park.(The Eagles song Take it Easy was about Winslow and we have a park on a corner where where you can "stand on the corner in Winslow AZ".) I finally was able to get out and get a photo this afternoon. It wasn't really what I wanted but it worked.

Egg Hunt

You guys get two pictures from me today. I just couldn't decide which one to use. They are the same photo taken in, manual, f5.6, shutter 1/200, iso  200. I then ran the vivid action from coffee tea in elements. I then used the muted colors layer for the second picture and muted the colors. I love the first with the bright colors, but I also loved the muted colors. I also cropped the photo a bit.

Motion

My boy in motion. For this photo I wanted more of the back ground to be blurred but he just wasn't riding fast enough. Maybe next time I will make my husband ride instead. 

I also have a question for some of ya. I'm wanting to make a signature thing to put on my photos. How do I do that?

Addiction

I to like Mindy have a addiction to running. Call me crazy, but I love it.  I first became a addict when in high school. I ran track and cross country, and loved it from the start. 

It's an addiction when you keep running even though you have blisters, when you go to the mall and the first store you go to is Lady Foot Locker or the running store down the street just to see if they have anything new, when you have 6 or 7  of shoes you never wear but don't want to get rid of them, when you want to run more marathons just to see if you can beat your time, when you add a mile to your run every week just to see if you can go farther, and you wake up at 4:30 just to get in a run.

Abstract Circles

So I knew what abstract was, but wanted to read on it some more to get a different idea than what I had. I went to digital-photography-school.com and searched abstract. I found a pretty cool article with tons of pointers. I'll have to look it up again if any of you might want it.

Nightly Feature

Blogger is giving me problems and won't upload my photo. I will try again later. I finally got it to work. I would help if I saved the photo in the right kind of file. 

At our house we love to watch movies, and eat junk food. This week is spring break and I think that alot of movies are in our future. Anyone have any yummy snack recipes?

My Support

This is my support. My husband. He works hard and long hours. This picture is taken on his work cooler, with his coat , his boots, and his lantern. Not only does he work to support our family, but he supports me in all I do, even if it may be crazy.

Success, Love, Late, and Reflection

I've been MIA for the past week, but I did do the assignments, I just haven't been able to post them. We went on a mini vacation to Idaho to visit family, and to let the kids play in the snow.(since we don't see much of it here in AZ) Here are my photos.

SUCCESS:

Here is Kennedy holding up the only SUCCESS of the day. My father-in-law took us ice fishing, this was the only fish caught that day. Although they did catch 12 the day before. 

LOVE:

My husband must LOVE me because this is what he got me for valentines day. Chewie is his name, and he's a yorkie. 

LATE:

The main reason for me being LATE, is the vacation we just had, and boy was it fun, and enjoyable. This was the first time we had been skiing, and snowboarding in 8 years. And the kids even got in on the action, and got to go to ski school!

REFLECTION:

My daughter Jocelyn. She was playing with the mirror after I did her hair for church. She gave me some really funny and goofy faces, but I liked how she looked so innocent in this picture. It makes me reflect on what I was taught, and what I'm teaching my children.

Shadows

This challenge was really hard for me!! I was going to go play around this morning but it was really overcast and sprinkling out. Then I was going to after church, but didn't have the umph. So this photo is a bit of a stretch. This picture was taken at a place called Brigham City(not the one in UT) It is a old pioneer settlement right here in Winslow. They are trying to get it restored, but right now there are just a couple of buildings left. Which has some great photo ops, but my kids were not cooperating.
I love to take my photos in the shadows, everything just seems to turn out better. Also my kids are shadows of everyone!! Kaden wants to play guitar like his dad, Kennedy wants to be a teacher like both of her Grandpa's, Jocelyn loves to follow her sister and her friends around, and Cole loves to be with me or my husband, in fact he is sitting by me now. Here are my cute little shadows!!!(one of these days I will take a picture without people in it, namely my kids.)

Tradition

I really struggled with this post.(my excuse for being late) Most of our traditions we so are holiday related. I tried to take some other pictures of some other little traditions we do, but these pictures kept coming back to me. They were both taken in December. Had, I known what I know now with my camera I think they would have turned out alittle better. I couldn't decide between the two pictures so you get both. :)

Tradition 1. This a new tradition. This year we took the kids on the Polar Express on the Grand Canyon Railway. They had so much fun, and even Cris and I enjoyed it. So this will be our new tradition to go with them every year. I love this photo mainly because of the magic and excitement that is in it.

This is a tradition that we have done for the past 3 years. This is Winkle, our elf that visits every year starting Dec. 1st and leaves Christmas Eve. He reports back to Santa every night and tells him weather or not the kids were good that day. Sometimes he even brings the kids a small toy or goodies back from Santa. And he also brings them their Christmas jammies on the 1st so they can wear them throughout the month. LeAnn's Dream

This picture was taken on auto mode, and I took a bunch of different angles. They all looked like just snap shots. In this one I zoomed in to make it look a bit more visually pleasing. Not the best shot but it represents my dream.
This can actually represent 3 dreams that I have.
1. Procrastination.... I took this picture this morning. I wish all the time that I wasn't a procrastinator. Better late than never though. Right???
2. A new fence..... Oh, how I wish we could put in a new fence!!! I dream of a cinder block privacy one. But to be realistic, I live on a DOUBLE, CORNER lot. It's just way to much money for us right now. This fence is in shambles the trampoline has blow through it a couple of times, and has been nailed back together by my handyman of a husband. But it keeps the kids, and the dog in, and people out.
3. A garden....This is where I was suppose to plant my garden for the past 3 years, but the procrastination in to play. This year though, this year, I will make my dream come true!!!!
