Swinging

My sweet girl was fluidly swinging to and fro all evening long...

I got several shots of my family that I'm in love with this evening. Tony's leaving Monday to head back to Iraq and we won't be together again until December, so documenting every moment is very important right now. If you'd like to see more of the pictures from tonight, you can check them out on my family blog. :)

I love your interpretation of the word. I also love this picture for the nice angle it's taken at. You captured her happiness perfect but I can still tell she's moving fluidly. Very very nice picture!

What a great photo! I love her smile in this- and the movement you can see. Great choice for processing also.

THANK YOU for your families service to this country!!

The angle is awesome!!! Were you laying underneath the swing? If so, brave girl ;). Her expression, I think, is what makes the picture so great. You captured true feeling. I love it! I'm going to head over to your blog to check out the others. I love your work.

I tried and tried to get a smile for my pic but of the 50 or so I took the only two that were in focus were blank stares. So- since I attempted the swing shot also I can really appreciate how good this shot is. How did you get such crisp focus while she was moving? And how did you get that angle without getting kicked in the head? Very impressive- I love it!

Thanks, Teryn! I took a lot, just like you said you did and it does take that. Also, the shutter speed needs to be really high to freeze the motion. It's a cat and mouse game, though, trying to catch a great shot. If you saw all the ones I delted you'd see that getting this really good one was a game of luck and hoping one of the ones that turned out sharp also included a great look on her face! And yeah, I was laying on the ground underneath her with just enough room between the swing and the camera that I didn't get knocked it the face! LOL :)
