Rough to The Touch

Rough

I was having a pickle of a time coming up with something for this challenge. I was actually thinking about it while making dinner and in walked my handsome husband with a week's worth of facial hair. Inspiration struck and I grabbed him (against his will) and started snapping away. It reminded me of all the times, as a little girl, that my dad would grab me and rub his prickly chin against my cheek as hard as he could. I would laugh hysterically, cry and then laugh some more. My girls do the same when Dave does it to them. Man whiskers...definitely rough to the touch.

Taken in front of a window, 50mm, f/4.5, 1/125, ISO400

CC always welcome.

If my hubby weren't out of town at the moment, I probably would have at least attempted something similar (though I would have added my daughter's hand being rubbed through his beard). I love the lighting, and the expression he has on his face. I think the black and white really accentuates the texture. Very nice picture.

Thanks for the comment! I'm happy to be back! This is a great shot of the man of the house! I really don't like whisker burns, and of course my husband thinks its hilarious when giving them! I love the B&W, I feel like it draws your eye more to the texture instead of the colors, and the soft lighting is a great touch!

I do that to my kids too. I also rub their feet on my beard if their feet r clean of course and they go crazy laughing!

Great detail on the beard!

My dad used to do that to me, and I loved it. Now when my husband does it, I hate it!

Great angle, great lighting, great "rough" take. I don't think there is anything about this shot that I don't like. Amazing job!

Great lighting. And such a nice relaxed expression. He looks so thoughtful. I could never con my hubby into letting me do his picture like this! I just love it.
