Rough on the Road

I didn't have anything specific in mind when I randomly selected this word--and I had to really think HARD about it! I came up with a few other ideas, but at the end of the day, the one that kept coming to me was the rough road trip we just finished! While it was a good trip, it was also ROUGH to keep the kids in carseats and to get some real REST while driving! :)

I took this tonight on a busy street (and I am shocked nobody called the police on me because they all probably thought I was stalking them) Took lots and lots of shots...and in the end I am frustrated because I kept the ISO too high--so it's granier than I would like.

ISO 800, 30 mm, f20, 1/13 second

With it the size it is before enlarging it, I think it's a really awesome shot. But you're right. As soon as you make it bigger, you can see the graineness. Don't think that's a word...but I'm going with it. :)

I am totally open for CC as well--just keep in mind I DO know the ISO was off...darn it! :)

Looks like a car commercial, especially with the lighting and the colors. I, too, am impressed with your panning. I'm glad you had a good road trip, and glad you're home and can really rest!

It could be in a car magazine! I love it.

This is professional! I simply love the focus of the van with the streaks of landscape in the background! Looks like the sun was setting, so getting a shot at that shutter speed without the ISO up a bit would have been near impossible. I think you did fantastic! I do NOT envy how ROUGH that trip must have been!

I like the commercial-car look. And the contrast between the color/light above and dark road beneath is really cool! I'm just impressed you found something to post while on the road...way to go!

WOW!!!!! Rachel, this picture is amazing, i LOVE the motion and color, it's beautiful!!! And this whole panning technique sounds fun to try out (and really really really difficult to master) your picture is STUNNING (send it into the car company and get a million dollars for it!)
