So I have just struggled to take pictures the last couple of days. Last night my son was over tired and screaming at everything. From not getting a sippy cup with bed, to screaming at me for taking a turn brushing his teeth, to holding him the wrong way. It was just a rough night. Yes I was a terrible parent and started taking pictures of it. Then he was screaming at me "NO! no cheese, NO cheese!" And yes that brown spot on the bottom of his left cheek is chocolate pudding.

You know why I love this picture? Because it captures parenthood in all it's glory. Some days, are just like that. I love the honesty in the picture from the tears down to the chocolate pudding. Well done Blake.
thanks Brittney! I appreciate that you just made me feel much better about the picture.
I still feel bad for shoot him when he was balling like that.
What a sad face! I feel your pain--when my daughter cries like that we sometimes resort to sticking her in her crib and letting her cry it out. Much easier since she's still less than a year. I agree with Brittney--this captures a side of parenting with which we're all familiar but, since it's not as "pretty" as the happy, smiling faces.
I like the way you've cropped the photo--it really brings the focus to his expression. Nice job!
Don't feel bad about getting him in pictures during moods like this, he will really like it when he is older! He is a cutie! I really like the tear streaks and the little red eyes! awww
We have days like that around here too, now that my son is 2 they are more frequent than I like actually. This is a great shot, don't feel bad about taking it, when life gave you lemons you made lemonade! Great shot!!!
Couldn't have said it better myself! As a fellow parent of a 2 year old, I feel your pain. I don't think you're a bad parent at all for taking a snapshot of his meltdown...after all...life isn't all about the "Cheese" pictures. Sometimes you have to throw a couple of the "No Cheese" pictures in there too! They're the most fun to reflect on later in life anyway!
Way to cature a rough moment of your son.. makes me wanna give him a big hug.
He's adorable.
Blake, he's still killer-cute with his sad faces, and trust me, no feeling bad about taking these pictures... I should have a whole folder dedicated to "no cheese" shots (ooh, Love the name!) I agree, I want to give the little fella a big hug and chocolate (it works for me every time!)
Hey, at least he had some chocolate pudding. It couldn't have been all bad right? I've got a few shots like this myself. You've got to be able to look back and laugh. I just love that blond hair and those cute little cheeks. Go get him some more pudding! He deserves it.
