One: My Little One

Wow, I had a really hard time with this one. You would think that I would have had something in mind already, since it was my challenge word, but I didn't. I ended up going with the obvious (for me) in the end, despite the numerous great ideas Rachel sent my way. This is my little ONE. She just turned ONE year old yesterday. She is my only ONE (so far). This was taken today during the ONE nap she took (in my bed, of course). She's holding (sort-of) Snuggle Bear, which -- of all the stuffed animals we have and have given her -- is the ONE that she has chosen to love the most.

About the photo: mid-afternoon, flash, macro setting. I cropped it to focus around her a little more. I used the "I'm feeling lucky" function in Picasa, which adjusts the color and the exposure in one easy function. I darkened the shadows around her a little bit, and then created a soft focus around the outside.

This is such a sweet picture! I think it's funny that you went back to square one after all--but quite fitting. :)
Very nice finished product! (hooray for those little tidbits of editing)

What a sweet, sweet picture! I love the colors--they work really well together. She looks like she's had a busy day and is storing up energy for the next spurt.

Feel free to disregard this because I'm almost never a fan of soft focus around the outside, but I do find the out of focus-ness on the outside distracting. Makes me wonder if I've got something on my screen!

nice use of the flash. it doesnt look like it was even used and it was natural light.
