Melting

Hot

I went through a whole tray of ice cubes trying to get this shot (good thing they're cheap). They kept melting too fast :). Now, I'm off to take care of my HOT, fevering little one. Sigh.

300mm macro mode, F10, 1/400, ISO100
In RAW editing I sharpened and increased the clarity and vibrance.

CC always welcome

I love this idea! Great angle! May have been a little more effective to shoot the ice melting on the sidewalk, but also a lot harder to capture the effect you got (pooling water).

Great job!

Dearest B-
If you would stop being such a little genius and having awesome-possum ideas... it would be much appreciated by those (like myself) who are STUMPED with this challenge!

No, really, LOVE this picture! ANYONE could have done melting ice, but you really went above and beyond- the angle, the crispness, it's all there! I love it!

Love the shallow depth of field here. This was a great idea!

And good luck with the little one!

Haha, I wish my counter top was that cool! Believe it or not this was actually taken on the sidewalk.

No way!!! I must get a sidewalk for my countertop! ;)

Ya, this TOTALLY looks like counters to me too! I can't believe this is the sidewalk! WOW! You've got some rockin' sidewalks there! :)

Super cool shot. Very nice clarity!

I like it! Great shallow dof and I like how you can see the water pooling all around ice!

Really great focus and final product! Is this just a countertop? Did you have to sit and wait for the melting to occur, or did you use a blow-dryer to speed it up?

I took this picture outside on the sidewalk, I just put the cubes on the ground and waited for them to melt (which they did very quickly)

LOVE this shot! One can almost FEEL the melted ice, as it appears to be running off the picture at you! Love the focus in this picture too! Great idea and great job!

Very creative! I love it! I love the neutral colors of it. My only CC would be the how centered the main ice is.

I love the angle, the depth, and the wet! I also would give A LOT to have it that hot here right now!

love the light and the angle on it shows the water on the counter as well as the details of the melted parts of the ice.
