The Easter Dress
This is a very sad Easter for me,I bought this little Easter dress for my youngest grandaughter a month ago and she will not be wearing it because she and her sister moved to Hawaii with their mom about 3 weeks ago. These girls have lived with us for the past 8 years, so as you can imagine I am having a very hard time with them being gone. My life was pretty much centered around them especially when it came to holidays and my photography. This is the first Easter since we have had children that we are not doing the typical Easter stuff, coloring eggs..etc.( My kids are all grown, except one and they didn't want to come and color eggs) Sooo I submitt this as one sad grandma! :(

beautiful dress... I can imagine the sweetest girl twirling in it, happy as can be. if your Grandkids moved to Hawaii, all's I have to say is: FOLLOW THEM THERE!!!! :) happy easter!
I agree.. follow them to Hawaii! :)
The dress is beautiful. You should have mailed it to her so her mom could've taken a picture of her making it even more beautful... I'm sorry, I know you're so sad. :( Hope tomorrow brings you something happy.
Yes I am going to Hawaii in August, which I am very much looking forward to, you are right, I should have mailed it to her but I just sent them a box full of stuff because they went there with the clothes on their back and one suitcase each ( long story) and there was not room for the dress. I will be sending it in the next box, maybe I just wasn't ready to part with it yet. Thanks for the uplift, I will have a good day tomorrow.
Such a beautiful dress and so sorry to hear you are not with your grandchildren this time of year. August will be so nice in Hawaii though!
What a lovely dress! I love the soft feel of the picture. Good job!
Wow, you captured your emotions in the picture of the dress, the lighting and the subtle colors make it seem sad or lonely. I thought so even before reading your excerpt. I'm impressed by how you were able to take a picture of a simple Easter dress and convey so much. Its a beautiful picture.
You sound like an amazing Grandma. Hope you have a happy Easter.
You really did do a great job capturing FEELING in this picture. As soon as I saw it I seemed to FEEL the story...
Hooray for going to visit...that will be so nice.
It is a beautiful dress- and I like the soft lighting you have on it.
The light is intersting to me in this picture like some said with the soft lighting. The way it is falling as well makes it interesting to me too.
I'm so sorry your granddaughter moved to Hawaii and won't get a chance to wear this beautiful dress. But I love the picture--it's full of anticipation and hope. The dress looks like it's just waiting to be filled and twirled and played in. I love the lighting.
