What a celebration!!

Tonight, we celebrated with my favorite dessert. Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream. What were we celebrating you ask? Daddy didn't have to work tonight. I work every other Sunday, and this was my night off. We had some ice cream in the freezer and lounged by watching a movie. It was so much fun. I tried so hard to make this picture 'not blurry', but I'm still learning. Any tips or tricks to teach me would be very helpful!!!

I love a good big bowl of ice cream! It looks to me as if the focus might have been on the wall behind instead of the ice cream. Maybe you were closer than your camera could focus, or it chose something other than what you wanted to focus on. That's my guess, but I don't know for sure.

If you have a point and shoot, see if there is a focusing square. Point that at what you want in focus, hold the shutter button halfway down until it beeps, or goes green, or whatever your camera does. Then continue to hold the button halfway down, and you can move the camera (if you want your subject not directly in the middle). Then, when you press the button all the way, it should keep the focus on what you want.

I don't know if that makes sense, and it's really long... sorry! Let me know if you have any questions, or if that's not the problem at all!

Does your camera have a macro setting? Usually it's a button with a tiny flower on it. It helps the camera to focus on things that are really close. Sometimes I have problems with focusing even when I do have it on macro setting though - it just doesn't like me to be too close to the subject - so I just back up a bit so the camera can focus, then I crop out any unwanted background later.

Mmm, I could go for some ice cream right now. Just having some would be cause enough for celebration for me! :-)
