Simple or not?

I am late been crazy around here this weekend. Here is a pic of some filipino food that I ate. Just a black sauce with beef and rice. On the side is a basic stew made with olives. Looks Simple right?

Turns out the black sauce is made from pork blood...you decide if that is simple!

Yikes!! Was it good? I love trying new things but I'm not to sure about pork blood!! But for what it is worth, you made it look appetizing, until I read it anyway! Nicely done!!

Blood pudding?? Wow, crazy! Are you a Filipino or serve there? My hubs is always trying to get me to try all sorts of 'interesting' food from his mission... hmmmm....!

My husband served in the Philippines, but he has never made me that. I think I'll pass...

Everyone it tasted good! It didnt taste like blood at all. I stated like stew or strogenoff (however you spell that).
I served my mission in Connecticut, I just grew up limiting things I ate cus i was picky and now im older and want to try and experience things. My wife is a big influence on that.
I was trying different settings under indoor light and florecent light and this looked the best. Thanks everyone.

While the subject matter threw me for a bit of a loop, I had kind of a hard time with this photo because it's not in focus.

Lindy - I think it might be the lighting through the window and from the lighting above plus the combo of my manual settings was just to high which makes it look like that. But I see what you mean.
If you got any tips on how to take pics under lots of indoor lighting like that I'd love to hear them I need all the help I can get, after all I must be some kind of primitive animal for eating blood. LOL!

Blake, I completely understand what you mean about the indoor lighting, it's my constant nemesis! I'm still learning myself, big time. All I can really recommend is playing with the combo of ISO, shutter speed, and aperture to find the perfect balance for that particular lighting. A higher ISO will give your photos more noise (grain) but will allow you to use a higher shutter speed in lower lighting. Also, I was wondering if you were trying to focus on the rice...automatic focus has an incredibly hard time with white.

You know think you are right, it probably did focus on the rice. It looks like it now that i see it more. If not I probably focused and because I shake when I take pictures it moved. I have issues with steady hands so when I do macro things always come out blurry. My mom gave that to me i think. Dad has steady hands.
