Ever since I started my food blog, taking pictures of food has become an automatic thing. I make the food, plate the food, and photograph the food. Only after I am satisfied with the quantity and quality of pictures taken will I actually sit down and eat the food.
Picture taken with point-and-shoot camera (as are all my pics), in natural light from the window. I used a sheet as a "tablecloth" because I get tired of the same dark wood of the coffee table in all my food pics. I like how it made the whole picture look lighter, and emphasized the chocolate sauce.

Wow, you can come cook for me anytime! Have you considered maybe lowering your f-stop just a tad, which would still keep your plate and food in focus but would blur your table cloth so all the focus is on the yummy yummy yummy food? Excuse me while I go drool!
