Clean Snow

I know this is really late but I have a good excuse. . . I'm new here. My name is Teryn. I am a SAHM of one beautiful 1 year old boy. (you will probably see lots of pictures of him later) My hubby is a student so money is tight but I'm learning to make the best of what we've got. Like, appreciating these deathly cold winters! At least the snow makes for good pictures. I love the dark berries with the bright white of new snow.

This. Is. BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I love the angles, the colors and the fence in the background is so pretty!!! Wow!
I wanted to do Snow for my subject at first, but in Idaho, there's no such thing as CLEAN snow right now, it's all dirty!

I love it! The fence in the background, the black berries, the icy snow... it all works! Good job!

I love that it's blurry in the front and back! I really like that. How did you do that? I have tried before and my camera focuses on the closest thing.

I's so glad you took my advice and joined the club!

I love this picture! Amazing how you focused so perfectly, and the starkness between the only two colors is beautiful!

If you have a good zoom on your camera, one way to get the blurred look is to back up and zoom in on what you like, then the camera (at least my point-and-shoot) blurs the rest. This is on the portrait setting for me.

Great pic!

My camera can be set to either focus on the closest or let me chose where the focus area is. Before I figured that out I found I could zoom in and focus on what I wanted and then zoom back out- the camera will maintain the original focus spot. I guess it kinda depends on the camera though.
