So...as time is running out for the CLEAN challenge I am forced to post this wretched picture. After weeks of a slow draining tub, and my husband ignoring the problem, I decided to take the problem into my own hands. And in my hands I had a small bottle of Liquid Lightening. Beware of Liquid Lightening for your tub my end up looking like THIS! Apparently the fumes from the sulphuric acid do this. If anyone has a clue of how to clean this PLEASE HELP. Oh by the way the drain is still clogged. I'm calling a plumber tomorrow.

All I can say is: you should donate this tub to a horror movie set! It's scary, but in a cool way!! Hope you can remove the rusty stuff! (safely!)
Oh my goodness! I'm in awe!
I would ask the plumber tomorrow about getting it off. Or google search it.
We stopped using drain-o, etc, on our slow moving drains several years ago. Now we have a plumber's snake that we use when the occasion arises, but mostly we just boil a big pot of water every few months and pour it slowly and directly down each drain. It works really well! I know that doesn't help you now though... The plumber should be able to tell you how to get it off though.
Melissa, I'm still crying for you. I do wonder why you didn't title this post what you titled the email you sent me...
We bought a house with a tub that looked just like this! I went after it with a pumice stone and it looked like new. You could also try CLR- it's pretty heavy duty and seems to clean anything I've tried it on. (And that's really saying something.)
