Goodbye Pie

I FINALLY made it back in a challenge! I took this picture of some mini pies I made for my daughter's class at school. They were so cute and little...and it was so sad watching the kindergarten kids throw them away without even taking a bite.

:)

(good to get the camera out again!! Thanks Blake for taking this off my plate and allowing me to enjoy it again!)

I would be tempted to eat those pies out of the garbage! ;) Those kids are crazy. Beautiful picture, Rach... what are they sitting on? It looks so neat!

I love the sugar on the top. It's so crunchy looking! Wish I could eat them!

Those are really cute!! Is the recipe on your blog? I want to make some... and not give them to any kindergartners who just won't appreciate them... ;)

The plate they are sitting on is just that...a plate I have. :)

And the recipe---um...soooo easy. You will die when I tell you...In fact, I am going to die telling you how EASY this was...

Storebought pie crust...
storebought apple pie filling....
Roll dough a little thinner than it comes. Cut out with a cup. Put a small scoop of pie filling in the middle (like, I mashed my pie filling so it would not be so chunky)

Top with the 2nd circle. Press around the edges with a fork.

Brush with an eggwash and sprinkle with raw sugar.

How easy is THAT?!

It was just the 50 part that was rough. :)
