nikon d90, f3.2, 1/500, iso200, 50mmI'm gonna break the trend here and post something that's not a face. ;) When I think of expressing my emotions, I think of my violin. I have played the violin for 28 years, and it is part of me. I can express sadness, joy, love, anguish, despair, happiness, playfulness, sensuality, anger... any emotion...with my fingers, my arms, my body, my heart. I've even cried while performing. (I know, I'm a nerd.)

What IS the Mission 24 photo challenge?
Here is your mission, approximately once a week, an assignment will be given. Group members will then have 24 hours from the time of the assignment to take new pictures that interpret that assignment and post their picture for us all to see.
Again, this is YOUR interpretation of the word...be creative!
1) Move past the literal. Take risks and don't be afraid to do something wacky.
2) Under your submitted photo, tell us why that picture made the cut. Why did you take it? What inspired you?
3) LEAVE COMMENTS when you can!! It is fun to join in and let others know what we love about a picture.
4) TITLE your picture and use labels for each challenge as well as YOUR name so we can track by person.
5) HAVE FUN!

Yay!!! I'm so excited you thought of something different. Although I had to laugh when I saw your title and post...I had the SAME thing in mind but with my guitar. Anyway, beautiful picture!
So funny, Brittney... maybe you, me, and Rachel ALL share a brain! ;) I hope you still post the picture of your guitar... I'd love to see it!

fantastic expression and wonderful picture
Im with Katy on this, only with a little bit less love lol. But the brick with the top is nice. the b/w is quite nice!
My oldest daughter, Alexis, plays the violin. I love all the emotions she puts into each song she plays. I also love the emotions I feel myself while listening to her. A great photo. I love how the violin is only partly in the picture and the blur adds so much. Good job!

Youre not a nerd,,,,Id probably be crying w/ ya... feeling the emotion you emit from your instrument.
Oh Mindy, I love it, I feel the same way you do about your violin, I love my violin and the emotions I get from playing it too. ( also my piano), Music just lifts the soul and is so powerful. Great and beautiful shot.
Beautiful as always. I agree with you music-it used to be that way for me. Maybe again someday when I get a piano.:)
I love the non-portrait/non-human take on this challenge. I also like that you chose to make it black and white. I love colors in photos, and beautiful rich wood tones are great, but this makes us focus on the instrument itself, not how pretty it is, or an interesting background, or anything like that.
