Ant in Motion
f/5.6 1/125sec. ISO360 using my 18-135mm
Have any of you ever tried to take a picture of a running ant? NOT easy! I decided I wanted to take a picture of an ant after my hubby told me that my son had been chasing them throughout church today (they were playing hookie) and had actually attempted to say "ant"- HORRAY!
I had no idea how hard it would be to actually chase down an ant and get him in focus before he got away. (I only have a zoom lens so it's tough with tiny subjects) I was trying to track with the ant and I love how the ground looks like it's moving while the ant is in motion. I just cropped it a bit and added a border.

wow love the details of the ground and its agreat motion shot!
I'm loving your ant in focus with the ground obviously hurrying by! Very neat to get those leaves in there with it; they add dimension!
holy moly, that's a great shot of the little bugger! it's in focus so well and I like those little leaves too... way to GO!
Panning on an ant?! You rock!!! I love the helicopter seeds (don't know their real name ;)) in the picture. They really help show the ant's real size.
One of my favorites! This is awesome!
I love the still ant and the "moving" ground. Love this.
Interesting shot. It looks like the ant is sitting on a clear glass plate suspended above the ground, kind-of like Rachel's "Uno" picture from awhile back. Very interesting. Great detail, and I assume you made use of the tutorial on photography in motion. Good job!
