Neighbors Seen Through Black & White

This is of our neighbor's yard, and although I wouldn't buy it (the picture) to put on my wall, it appeals to me. These neighbors are kind of kooky, as evidenced by their 'scarecrow' staring at the run-down car that still has the reflective shade. I also think the brand new home in the background is an interesting juxtaposition.

This is SOOC.

The camera tilt, the old car, the scarecrow...I love it all! It almost reminds me of a hippy ghost town or something. What fun neighbors!

wow, this is really fun to look at!!! I usually only spend a couple seconds to look at a picture, but this one I leaned in and really drank it up. well done!! Looks like it could be in some movie set in the 60's (minus the brand new home in the background!)

love the shot of the car makes me think of the 50's with the black and white.
I might have gotten a bit clore to the car to show more detail on the stuff in the picture, other than that, i need lessons from you!

REALLY SUPER PICTURE! I like the feel of it. I think the only thing I would have done different (personally) is to increase the contrast a little more so you get the depth of everything. But you did a super job! I really do like this...what funky neighbors!

OH, I really, really love this. I think this is frame worthy. Like you said, the juxtaposition of the old stuff in the foreground with the new house peeking in from the back is just a really awesome take on things. I think you chose very wisely for this challenge! Excellent job!

Ya gotta love neighbors! The best part is the car it gives it an even older feel. Great shot!

This is a great subject! I like the picture as it is; at the same time, I think the eclectic nature of the stuff is enough on it's own without the addition of the tilt. For me the crookedness of the framing is a little too much in combination with the rest of the kooky stuff in the photo. Obviously others disagree, so it's probably just a matter of taste in the end!
