Fire Hydrant
Nikon D80
Nikkor AF 50mm 1.8
Tiffen Warming Filter
ISO 100
Shutter 1/100
Aperture F1.8
Okay so there are the specs...also, I brightened the red and made it stand out more against the background in PS Elements.
I would like to give a huge thanks to everyone who voted for me in the Black and White Challenge. I was busy all weekend with Church, Family, Friends and Food during Easter. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Also to Dave, my husband was skeptical to when I told him what I wanted to do, and I was even amazed on how great it turned out. Thanks again to everyone!

Great Picture Amanda, I love the close up and brightness of the hydrant and all the straw next to it. Very nice shot.
this is so cool... something that no one would ever give a second glance at (unless you're a canine, i guess!) but you made it STAND OUT and look AWESOME!! The grass and straw are wonderful additions to the pic too... great job!
I love the composition, the straw is a sharp contrast... here is my cc... If you want that red to be RICH you were on the right track with the iso! i think you are just a bit overexposed, meaning block out some more light ~ if you wanted the background fuzzy as it is (which i love) then you were right on with the f stop! you just needed a faster speed to richen the color... or reverse that and kick up your f stop a couple maybe even 5, and then you would have a really evenly exposed shot.
i really like it! good shooting!
Great picture! Perfect thing to shoot for red!
I love the weeds in front, it really gives the picture dimension. Nice!
Very neat!! Lindy Lue gave you a great rundown! Impressive!! :)Love the blurred background. Beeautiful!
I love the over grown, fall weeds with the red and green. great Picture.
Great choice of subject matter. I like the contrast of the weeds and the green with the hydrant.
love the simplicity and colors of it are bright but smiple to me! Nice
I like this. Great representation of red, and I like how the light hit the curves. Also love the background.
Great take on red! I love the shapes and focus in this picture too! Good job!
I love the texture of the uncut grass next to the hydrant. This is a very nice shot.
