Beautiful Day For a Ride

50mm f/16 1/40 sec. iso. 100

This is my first post and I was excited to see the challenge was motion. My family and I love biking. As soon as I saw the challenge I knew this was the shot I wanted. I'm pretty new to the SLR world so it was fun to learn about and practice panning. This is my wife, Brittney, biking near our home in UT.

I'm new to the blog so this is me: I work as an EMT in an emergency room and also for an ambulance, have a great wife, two cute little girls and a smelly pooch. I love anything in the outdoors especially biking, hiking, skiing and camping. I compete in long distance cycling races (my longest being 206 miles in one day) and am just getting into photography. The picture is a self-portrait I took a few months ago while out x-country skiing.

Dave, Dave, Dave, I feel I must add a disclaimer to your picture...I'm not usually that thick, its all the layers, I promise!

Good shot! I think I will use it as my new FB profile pic.

Okay, Brittney... you're not "thick" in this pic... LOL... you look very athletic, I'm jealous... :)

Now, welcome Dave!!! It's always so much fun to have new members and see a new perspective on photography! Can't wait to see your work and I love this picture of your wife! The motion you captured looks awesome!

GREAT WORK! Especially if you are just beginning. Panning takes practice! AWESOME JOB!

Glad to have ya! I am wondering now if I told Brittney to do an intro about herself. I better go check...if she didn't, pass it on to her that she should! We would love to get to know her too!!
