Smell the Rain

When I think of fresh, I think of the smell after it rains. So I was trying to catch the rain in this picture, not easy without a water proof camera! I don't really know much about the picture, I took it on the action setting. As for the rest of the tricky camera chat that you guys do, well hopefully soon I will be able to tell you about my own pictures! I didn't have to Photoshop this, so that makes me happy!
I want to say thank you to all of those who have left me comments, it really makes me want to push myself more!

I like the way you framed this photo. I like the contrast between the wet pavement and the wood fence--I love that I see the texture of the asphalt.

I, too, like how you framed this. I love the lines it makes and the texture.

My only suggestion would be some color... maybe a child's toy or something.

I love it. The way to take a picture like this without using the camera functions, would be to set it on Manual mode, and you'd need to be able to use a fast setting speed...something around 135-500 would do it. Then if you want everything in focus, you'd use a high aperature...F8 or above...F11-16 gives a very clear pic and you would see a lot more detail. If you wanted to ONLY focus on one area, then you'd use a low aperature number...F2.5, F5...somewhere in that range, focus on what you want to have focused in the pic, and take the picture. That way, everything else will blur, but you'd see the raindrops more.

Don't know if that helped any...

Great job. I love the tilt.

I like the subdued color, and that you can see the wet. Nice photo!

My hubby doesn't understand what I mean when I talk about the smell of rain...I'm glad there are others that do!

I really like your viewpoint- you were really on the ground weren't you! I think I may have liked to see the fence line straight.

Ok, so I have to disagree with April...(Love ya April) because I LOVE the tilt of the fence. I think it adds some personality to the shot. Just wanted you to know!

Well this is a picture looking up hill. So the tilt of the fence was really an accident. And I guess that I should also say that when I talked about not using photoshop, I meant I didn't use it to change the picture color or touch it up at all. I did use it though to add the border, some of you pointed it out, and I wanted to make it more clear. But I put a border on all my pictures though, good or bad! Thanks everyone again for the great comments!
