Pledge Allegiance...

Okay first I want to tell you why I chose this as my tradition. This morning I was thinking about what I could do, and I decided that I didn't want to do a tradition that was so personal to just me, but could be for everyone. And then I went to hang my flag outside and that's when it hit! The Pledge of Allegiance!!! A Tradition that is dying! Why would we do that, this tradition has been passed down for generations. I learned it in school, said every morning before starting class. And now I don't even think it is allowed (correct me if I'm wrong!) I do know one thing and that is... its a tradition that I will be passing on to my children!

And now, on to the picture. I took this in the morning sun. It was great light for the bright colors. I laid down on my porch and zoomed way in on the portrait setting, and no flash. I know that isn't saying much in camera speech, but I'm slowly learning! Sorry to go all Red, White and Blue on you!!

This is one AWESOME picture!!! I love the angle, so stunning! Also, your white border is really cool- love that it goes "behind" the flag-- small but makes a BIG difference!

I really like the angle you chose!! Good tradition to choose as well. BTW, my daughter is in kindergarten and they say the pledge every day. She learned it last year in preschool.

Sweet!! I'm glad to hear it isn't dying after all!

So here is a little something for everyone to smile at! I had to look up what BTW was. You would think I would be able to figure it out! No... not me. I'm a special case!

I, too, love how you took the border behind the flag. Awesome picture!

I'm a red white and blue girl, too, so I love your picture and your thoughts!

I really like the angle you took this at. And I agree; what happened to the patriotism in our nation? All the wood looks great around the flag!

I really love your picture. Great angle. I love the tradition of the pledge. I also love to hear my children repeat it. Something stirs inside me and I remember how proud I am to be an American. Thanks for the good reminder!

NICE! What a great idea. I do know lots of schools where it isn't allowed...I'm surprised any school is still allowing it.

Love your idea here. I can't decide if I'd like to see it with a little burning around the edges, or just a little brighter...I think the slight burining around the edges would give you a little more focus on the flag.

You ROCK!

I agree we are losing the tradition of the predge of alligence! I am proud to be American and think it is great to show it.

Great picture!! I love the angle.

For CC- I agree with Shanda about the burning. And I might have cropped a little more off the top.

This is great, I love the angle. I would like to see it with some different color manipulations, like a vintage look or brightening the colors just a bit. Still, I love it!
