Fresh Fruit
This started as a basket full of fruit, but I couldn't get the composition to be interesting enough. Then I tried just one apple, but that wasn't really doing it for me either. I ended up choosing the apple and this pear with an interesting stem. I like how the pear and its stem sort of frame the right side of the picture.

An interesting take on a traditional still life. I do like the stem of the pear though. I might have played around with just the pear and framing that in the photo.
I think if you had picked one of your beautiful plates it would have added a nice pop. And maybe if you had the pear leaning against the apple somehow...they are both great objects and it's really nice light!
I agree with Rachel about having the fruit together. I do really like how bright the fruit is against your carpet and agree that the pear stem is awesome!
That apple looks amazingly delicious!! I love the lighting on top of the apple too... very well done!
I like the backlighting you used. I think it could have looked nice if you had had the pear stem over the apple- if they were closer together.
