Otter Pops

This is my 2 year old son's favorite way to cool off this summer. Every night my son and my husband sit on the front porch and eat one (or two).

CC please! I burned the corners in ps. I'm so excited for this blog. My husband has been doing photography for a while and I'm his assistant on weddings but was looking for a fun creative way to start practicing and getting better - This is definitely it!

Fence Line

Driving around Weatherford, TX at 106 F in the shade,

my dog thought I was crazy to get out of the car.

This fence goes on forever.

It is a fabulous Ranch with horses staying cool under the sprinkler systems on green meadows.

Rays of Inspiration

When I read this challenge, I instantly starting thinking of what things have been inspiring my photography recently. Since it seemed impossible to take a picture of all of you, I moved on to my next big inspiration -- light. I have discovered that lighting can make or break a photo. It proved to be a bit of a challenge to find just the right subject, but I feel this is the best shot I got that the focal point really is light.

Shamefully, I photoshopped the heck out of it. : )

The Secret Life of Bees

My husband and I rented the movie, "The Secret Life of Bees" last week. I can't say it was my favorite movie ever, but I definitely enjoyed it and would watch it again. It was one of those movies that made you think about life in a different way... in a way, I guess you could say it was inspirational.

I had no idea it would be so stinkin' hard to take a picture of a bee... they're fast little buggers! Thanks for looking.

Young Troops

I couldn't resist taking a picture of these adorable boys in uniform! I'm so grateful for those who have fought for my freedom, now and in the past.

Creative Crayola

Crayola- giving kids everywhere limitless options for creativity.

I don't normally do black & white with color- but I think it works here. What do You think?

Limit: One

In this limitless bed of white flowers, they have allowed limited access to one yellow bloom.
(Look everybody, I submitted a picture that doesn't have one of my kids in it! : } )

Heat hath no Limit

Today we reached the hottest temperature so far this summer. I couldn't think of anything for this spontaneous challenge until we went outside to hop in our pool to cool off. Imagine my surprise when the pool water was like bathwater (95 according to the thermometer) and therefore offered no refuge from the sun! I glanced up at our thermometer on the side of the house and gasped when I noticed that it was past the normal 110 - 115 reading. Yes folks, that says 126 degrees, blatant proof to me once again that desert HEAT hath no limit.

I used the "sunset" effect on the thermometer in PS to give it a "firey" look.

CC please!!

Wildflowers at dusk

f/5.6, 1/80 sec, iso 400, sooc

One of my favorite things about summer is seeing all the beautiful wildflowers. This picture was taken at dusk in a park near my house. CC welcome!

Express Wonder

Wonder

One thing I love about babies are their sweet, little, expressive faces. They never mask how they feel, from wonder to frustration...it's all there for you to see.

Midnight Express

It's Pretty obvious that this train does not run any more but at one time it might have been a midnight express train. It was not easy getting a night shot and then on top of that it started raining! But all turned out well and I was able to capture one good picture!
