Waiting for a change

Here in Alaska we are waiting for Spring/Summer. If you notice the tree, it still has no leaves. It has some buds on it though so maybe by next week we will have greeness!
I didnt write down the camera's settings. Next time.

Airmen Waggoner

This is a picture of my hubby's cold weather coat. He is in the Air Force. His job is to put the bomb on the airplanes. The airplanes don't care if it's -40 outside. Neither do the big bosses. When they say the bombs have to do loaded, they have to be loaded. Rain, snow, freezing weather. My hubby and all the other servicemen of the military are my heroes. They put in the 12 hour shifts for less money than McDonald's workers.

I took this with overhead light with 0"8, F5.6 and ISO400. I was trying to focus on the Waggoner to make that stand out more.

Always late

I'm late in posting.
I'm late like one of the pictures below.
I'm late in finishing this baby quilt.

I really need to work on this!

Many successes

My husband Chris took this picture a few days after Connor came home from the hospital.

This picture has a few successes for me.

1. We had a baby. (I'd had a few miscarriages before Connor so we were/are so happy to have him.)

2. He was home from the hospital. (I have a bleeding disorder and Connor had my blood in him for a few weeks. He was able to come home after a few days but it was still scary.)

3. He had just finished breastfeeding. For any new mom, you know that's a success in it's self!

4. It's always a success when they go to sleep. A little victory every day! :)

Gave up!

Ok so here's the story... This is me in all my glory! Actually this is me at Halloween. I was a hunter. Connor, my son, was my Edward and our dog Hooch, was my partner in crime.

Here is my excuse for not a real picture...I totally slacked off. I read this yesterday and pouted about it. Pictures of myself, right now, are the worst thing in the world. I'm just hating my body, in more ways than one. So I thought I would be able to take a picture today after I did my hair and makeup and put on my skinny clothes. Not so much.

I forgot I had 12 women coming over for book club tonight. I had to make a dessert, drinks, finish the book and clean the house. On top of which my hubby had me running around town looking for a certain spray he needed.

Lame excuse I know, but here I am.

I'm Krista. I am a Medical Assistant but gave it up when I had Connor. Connor is now 19 months old and king of all messes! I'm married for all time and freaking eternity :) to Chris. He is in the Air Force. We are stationed in Anchorage AK right now. We are moving in August. We both grew up in Marysville WA. (No, it's not close to Forks but I have been there a few times.) I love blogging, reading and quilting. I am LDS and have a few callings in our little ward. I know Rachel through blogging but will probably meet her one day because I think she is one of the most creative people I know.

Nice to meet you all!

The Forever Comfort

I'd been thinking on this one all day.

I took pictures of my husband shoulder. When I'm stressed, upset or sick, that's where I end up. But the pictures didn't turn out well because he thought it was weird I was just taking a picture of his shoulder. Sooo when I thought about all the times he travels for the military or when we have disagreements...

I turn to Heavenly Father and the scriptures. No matter how bummed I am, how sick I am or how stressed I am...I ALWAYS find comfort in the scriptures.

It just so happens that my hubby bought me these scriptures for Christmas with my name on it. So it's kinda a double wammy!

I haven't introduced myself either. I'm Krista. I am a SAHM of Connor, who is 18 months old. A wife to Chris, who is in the Air Force. We are currently living in Alaska. We will be moving in August and I'm counting down the days..no joke. It's just too cold up here. We have a beagle named Hooch. A cat, Louie and a chinchilla, Rosco. I am a member of the LDS church. I love playing the piano, blogging and quilting. My hubby LOVES to fish. Connor likes to rip apart toliet paper...as of right now. :) I'm looking forward to these assignments to stretch my camera skills. Already I have learned so much in two weeks. Thanks for letting me play!

Clean

I thought and thought about what it means to be clean to me. I thought about my kid but he was definately not clean with his snot nose! I thought about a whole bunch of other things but nothing worked.

I thought that if my kitchen sink is clean, so is the rest of the kitchen sooo....here's a picture of my sink.
