Backyard Barnyard

I love old barns. This one is not my favorite, but it is ours and is in our backyard therefore very convenient. I'm not sure what type of editing you do with B&W...any suggestions would be great!

Hello Again!!!

This subject was hard for me, but it forced me to be a bit more creative. I wish I knew how to change the borders and background colors...any ideas? Or better yet I wish there was no background and all subject, dang wish I would have thought of that earlier! I also really debated whether or not to post the b & w version.

Ice Cream Anyone?

OK, sorry there is not much to this picture but TRADITION turned out to be a hard one for me. Although I do like the curvature on it and the way "Rocky Road" is the only thing in complete focus. In my family growing up, we always had ice cream in the freezer. There were eight kids so it was usually the big buckets of ice cream. And still to this day you cannot go to my parents house without being offered a bowl of ice cream. All the grandkids know that this is the grandma and grandpa's house with ice cream. I was shocked when I got married and my husbands family rarely had ice cream. So apparently it is a Smith tradition and like a good girl, it's one that I will be carrying on!

When I Grow Up....

I took this picture this week before my daughter's dance recital and she was so excited. She was looking out the window and I loved the way the light was hitting her face. I have a little sample photo editor that came with my camera and I played with it a bit to make the pink pop....what do you think?

Hello Mission 24

Wow I didn't realized I hated self-portraits so bad until this assignment. Now I am just wishing I had some photoshop! Anyhow....My name is Melissa. I live in a small town in Cache Valley, Utah. My husband is a dairy farmer and we have 3 kids ages 4,3, and 1. It is great to put a face to all the names!

Baby Bear

Not exactly what I was going for, but all the same looks like some COMFORT to me. By the way the bathtub is restored!!! After some Google research I found that Hydrogen Peroxide would do the trick and thank the heavens it did!!! I guess I could also do a little intro. My name is Melissa I am a mom of 3 and work part-time as a dental hygienist. I'll try and spare you any of the disgusting things I see in people's mouths. I just got a new camera for Christmas and have no idea what I am doing so hopefully I can learn from all of you.

Can You Clean This?????

So...as time is running out for the CLEAN challenge I am forced to post this wretched picture. After weeks of a slow draining tub, and my husband ignoring the problem, I decided to take the problem into my own hands. And in my hands I had a small bottle of Liquid Lightening. Beware of Liquid Lightening for your tub my end up looking like THIS! Apparently the fumes from the sulphuric acid do this. If anyone has a clue of how to clean this PLEASE HELP. Oh by the way the drain is still clogged. I'm calling a plumber tomorrow.

Resolution

A few of my resolutions are to simplify and spend more time with my little ones. I am completely new to photography and I am so happy to have this blog to give me a bit more motivation to keep learning!
