Summer

EskateDSC08504
I didn't see this challenge till today and I really wanted to do it! So here is some summer time fun! This is a new sport that I'm picking up and I love it! I'm totally posing here because it was hard to set the 10 sec timer, and get the position that I wanted. Hope you like it!

Natural Beauty

<span class=
Okay I really didn't go to extremes in thought for this. We went for a family drive because that is what my husband wanted to do for fathers day.. and I really did try to think of something witty. But I loved taking these pictures. This is my first time being able to take a picture of running water and playing with my shutter speed! yea me!
I will have more pictures of this lovely drive (with three kids ahhh) on my photo blog if you would like to see! whatadandy.blogspot.com

Its all about ME!!!

Hello chaps I'm Erin Wageman, and I'm the featured Photographer... (feeling so special!)

(okay I know you can't see my face in this picture but it makes me laugh, I like my daughters worried look! Or is it my worried look?)

My Camera you ask?? Its a DSLR Sony Alpha 200.. Oh yeah bringin out the big guns! Ok really it isn't a down and serious photographers kind of camera, but I still love it! If you know about Minolta and liked them, then you would love this!

What is your favorite photography subject? My favorite photography subject would probably be my kids, they are really cute! But lately I've really been liking the scenery! Someday I'm going to shoot for National Geographic (I love how their pictures are so real and tell all the story that you need)! Really!! I should actually put that with the wish stuff!

What camera equipment is on your wish list? Everything!! I really wish I had a tripod of all things! That’s just how far behind I am!

What are your hobbies outside of photography? I like to play! I love the outdoors, hopefully soon I will love my new dirt bike (very excited!) I love fitness, my family, crafts, friends, traveling, skiing, boating, rollerblading, 4 wheeling, heck you name it and I’m usually game! (just don’t ask me to jump out of an airplane).

Tell us about your family! (married? Kids?). I have been married for 6 years now (wow, feels like yesterday) to the man of my dreams! Jeremiah is a wonderful, sexy man, (I hope he reads this). I have 3 kids. Kennen is turning 6 in September (Our little princess). Carson will be 3 at the end of June (usually the man of the house because daddy is gone all the time!!!) and Brooke beans will be 2 at the beginning of July (she is the little rebel... hilarious). They crack me up!

Where do you live? (you don’t have to be specific if you don’t feel comfortable) I live in Mount Vernon WA. Next to an ugly gray house (its okay no one has ever lived there!) For now. In about a year we will probably be joining you Easterners… again. My husband is in the Navy so we get to move a lot. It has been a wonderful experience for our family!

Do you have a blog you would like to share? (family blog or photography blog?) Heck yeah! You can look at anything that you like, but you better leave me comments so I know you looked! I have my photography blog that is whatadandy.blogspot.com. and then my family blog is wagemancircus.blogspot.com.

What is the best photography advice you have ever received? Learn how to use your camera, and then relearn!! And, you can never take to many pictures! Snap away! I know its simple but I totally live by it!

What (if any) editing program do you use? I love Photoshop CS4!!! (that’s right I’m up to number 4!) Okay really I have no idea how to use any of the new features, but someday I will be a pro… and that is when they will come out with the new and improved version!

Can you share your favorite 3 pictures with us?? Absolutely... I don't know if they are my favorite, but I like these a lot... for now.

Beaner

Brooke missionDSC07513
She was actually really happy here, she was just bitting her top lip. I wanted a close up of her eyes, but this was all that she would let me have. I think eyes show the most emotion. instead of getting what I wanted, I got a sad looking girl. But she is really happy!

In the moment

kennenDSC07340
I'm really not late on this. I'm in Washington so I still have a few good hours! Or are we going by a specific time zone? Either way... My daughter Kennen... She cracks me up! All the portraits that I have of her are like this. She is completely in her element, always making a face or doing somthing funny. I love it anyway!

I love doing these missions, they have been getting me out of the house.  I went out looking for a vinyard, and since I didn't find the beauty that I was looking for there, I found this beauty in a huge car garage on my way back.  This was the only one of this style. Most of the cars were Muscle Cars,  I'm not a car person, but even I was drooling!!

QUICK NOTE!  I want to know your photography blogs!  I've been snooping and want to see all that you got!  please leave me a comment telling me your site! thanks! Don't be shy!

I wanted to take a fun colorful picture of my kids, but we are celebrating Easter a little later this year, and it would have been to late.  But still being Easter, I try to remember what this Holiday represents.  The whole reason for why today is such a good day!!!  So I went and took this picture.  I believe fully in the resurrection of Christ.  And I believe that through him we will all have that same opportunity.  I found this tree in the middle of the cemetery,  everything around here is just coming out of winter so the bloom on this stood out so bright, it was beautiful!

On Angels Wings.

I really didn't like putting this picture in B&W.  It looked so good in color.  But I love B&W.  It calms everything down! So... what do you think of my angel wings?

Ready for take off

There were so many things that I wanted to to for this mission, But I liked this one the best, I wanted to get my subject in focus but blurred so that you could see that it was in motion. This little fellow was good enough to eat our lunch and then let me snap a bunch of pictures.

(F10.0, 1/250 sec, ISO100)
PS- Shadow burned to add a little more texture, and added border.

Shoe Addict

I'm addicted to shoes!  The first step is addmitting it.  I have it mostly under control, and I'm not as bad as I used to be, but its hard to pass on some really cute ones!
(ISO 400, F5.6, 1/20 sec) Window light, shaded.
Used photshop to: B&W, Singnature, Border, and croped it square.

I've learned so much from this blog!!  Thank you for the great comments.  Its really pushed me to do things with my camera and look at things in a completely different way!  One of the best things that I have done is started reading my camera manual!  You should see it, that poor little book is so torn apart (I take it everywhere with me).  So I want to give that as a little advice!!  READ YOUR MANUAL (again and again).  I've learned so much about my camera that I didn't even know it could do!! Its been a lot of fun!

Anniversary

Well today My husband and I are Celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary!! Yea us! So I took this picture paying extra attention to the tips and tricks that were given this Friday!  Thanks!  I took it on a low aperture and quick shutter, no flash.   I tried this shot from tons of angles! Smell the Rain

When I think of fresh, I think of the smell after it rains. So I was trying to catch the rain in this picture, not easy without a water proof camera! I don't really know much about the picture, I took it on the action setting. As for the rest of the tricky camera chat that you guys do, well hopefully soon I will be able to tell you about my own pictures! I didn't have to Photoshop this, so that makes me happy!
I want to say thank you to all of those who have left me comments, it really makes me want to push myself more!

.

No.. I'm not pregnant! Just to clear it up. Now I'm sure a lot of people thought of this when they heard the word late, I just wanted to post the obvious! So this is for all you ladies out there, who worry about being "late"! Now, you can look at this two ways, it could be a good thing or a bad thing. For me it was a good thing, but right now I think it would be a bad thing! Ok... I changed the background to B&W in Photoshop (I guess I can't do without it after all) I really wanted to make just a few of the bright colors in the picture pop. The color one was nice but there was a lot in this picture and I wanted to make them all kind of go together, well and I like B&W. So here it is, my version of "late".

Happiness

"Success is not the key to happiness,
Happiness is the key to success,
If you love what you are doing
You will be Successful." -Albert Schweitzer
I find almost everyday to be a success! I love what I am doing! My family brings me true happiness, and that I find very successful.
This picture was taken awhile ago, I didn't get a chance to take a new one. We have had a few things pop up. So life has been picking up again! I know I would have done a lot of things different, but I chose this picture because it is successful to me. Teaching your children is very rewarding, and this is a classic. I did the black and white with warm tones to even out the shades, it was a really bright picture and I wasn't looking at the background, so there was a lot going on back there, and the black and white took care of it. Sorry I guess this was a little late.
