Busy: Working

I have officially recovered from surgery!!! And boy did I hit the ground running. I have had four shoots in the last two weeks. One of them was going down to see the Christmas lights. This photo was too cool not to share. Everyone just looking up at the huge tree, and the only light was the tree. The only PS I did was cropping.
CC- is always welcome.

Liquid Diet

My husband has had some terrible tummy troubles lately so this is his food for the next few days. Poor Fella!

I set this up on a table in my basement. With all the lights off and just using my basic flash so it would focus directly on the product. Shooting product is what I'm figuring out how to do these past few weeks. I'm also working really really hard on getting the shot and not using PS unless I have to. CC is always welcomed.
FYI: This will be my last post for a little while, not that I was really good this summer. But next week I go in for surgery on my right shoulder. I'm not allowed to touch my camera for 4 weeks and I'm not supposed to be out of the sling for at least 6 weeks. Thanks!

Just There

Some times inspiration comes after much thought. This picture came from just being there. A friend of mine was playing the piano and I started talking pictures. I took the chance to work my shutter speed and f-stop on my camera. It was fun.

The picture was taken in B&W and I cannot remember the settings. In PS I sharpened the image so the edges or the hand and keys are more defined, oh I also cropped it.

Sign: I Need A Life

This is what I spent my day doing. Originally I took out the sewing machine to hem and alter a pair of pants. Then I thought I might make a couple of old pillow cases into new pillows for my couch. And then I found a matching sheet, well one thing lead to another and the finished project is.....

So this is a sign to me that I need a life so that I can fill my days with things that aren't so insane!!! I know this is kind of a lame post but like I said I need to get a life and get out more :)
CC always welcome, and nope I'm not going to tell you what I did in photoshop it. That might just ruin the effect. If you figure it out or really want to know then we can discus details.

PS- I know it's past midnight but I finished the project at almost midnight exactly.

Home Sweet Home

Oh how much I love this picture. I know it isn't the best picture in the world but it is one of the sweetest sights to me. Those are the steps to my house. And that box, oh that box brought home my wonderful camera. Which is now repaired free of charge and both of my cards after re-formatting are in perfect order.
As for the picture, in PS I hand selected the box out, cut and then pasted it back in. To create a second layer. Then I selected the background and made it black and white. I tried doing the box black and white too but it needed to color to make you see it.
-CC- Always welcome. Oh it's so good to be back!

Just so you know, the Service Center had to replace the CF Drive Deck. Which is the part that writes files, and reads files from the memory card. The whole thing was faulty. So there was no way they could fight the warranty. I'm not sure they would have Sony has been really good during this whole ordeal. The tech even called me the day he finished to let me know it would soon be in the mail. And they sent me the tracking code to follow it home. I am very happy with these guys.

Change: Switching

I'm royally mad!!!! My dear loveable Sony DSLR-A200 has to be sent out for service. I've only had this camera two months and it has destroyed two memory cards. The first one I thought was because of my magnetic necklace I used to wear. I thought maybe that disrupted the camera process. So I stopped wearing the neclace. Then yesterday my camera started eating pictures again!!!!! I talked to tech support and I have to send my camera to Texas to be fixed :( So for now I'm going to be switching back to a Cannon Power Shot. Which is a decent camera but not mine. The only upside is that we are 99% sure that all repairs will be covered under warrenty.

As for the picture. I set this up in my office, with some natural light and a flash. I used a towel to lend some texture and but a box underneath the towel to ad some levels. In photo shop I cropped it fixed the levels a little. I know it is far from a good picture but that's just how mad I am. Okay now that I'm done venting.
-CC- is especially welcome on this picture. Who knows how long my camera will be out of commission. So I'll need help relearning how to use the Cannon. Thanks for listening!!!!

Hot: Boiling

This idea hit me quickly, and I jumped to do it just in case anyone else had the same idea. Not only did I have and idea but knew how to do it too. It was crazy!!!

I took this in my kitchen with our wonderful red sauce pot. (which had to be scoured) I put some water in and let it boil. I originally was going for the steam out of the pot but the bubbles looked so cool when I caught them in the camera. In PS I cropped just a little, and boosted the color by saturating it. The red pot just wasn't red enough.

Wisdom: Applying Intelligence

So apparently Janelle and I are on the same wave length. Because I often think of wisdom as applying intelligence. In the picture are some of the things which display my growing wisdom.

I took this picture late in the evening, with a flash. In PS I cropped and saturated the color a little bit. Sadly the feature I really wanted to use is in a program that just died on my computer. So sorry it's not as sharp and defined as it could have been. -CC-

(also I apologize for any grammar mistakes or odd sentences. My brain just isn't quite working right.)

One Day's Work

Oh what a challenge. Someday I'm going to think up a really hard challenge just for Janelle. Anyway, here is my picture.

Taken at twilight of my wonderful husband sporting his brand new vest. We are going out to a masque ball tomorrow and I made him this fancy new vest today. It's made out of the same material as my dress, so we will match :) As for the picture I was in standard portrait mode. I attached my large flash to give me the extra light. In PS I cropped it down to show off my subject better. I personally wish there was a little more light in the background at the bottom of the picture but at 8:30 at night there is only so much you can do.

I Know I'm Late

I just got to a point where I could get these uploaded. I know I'm late for the challenge but I wanted to share it anyway. So thanks for looking at my late photo.

These are the two cameras I trained on and yes they are both 35mm. After taking the picture I ran it through HP Image Zone and did the black and white filter and the antique one after that. I also cropped it just a little.
PS- Don't vote for me, vote for someone who got their submission in on time!

My World

I am an insane optimist. Insane? You may ask, well I can be so optimistic it drive people around me nuts. Although it's more about being naive (which I'm not) while reading today's challenge and I thought of "Seeing The World Through Rose Colored Glasses." So here is my world.

All I did was take a red transparent DVD case and placed right in front of the lens. Using it as a filter and took a shot of our backyard. Which is my world, we are working really hard to make a pretty back yard and it's coming right along.

Light in the Dark

Da-na-na-na-na-na-na Da-na-na-na-na-na-na BATMAN!!! I simply love Batman, I have for years. My mother bought me this light two years ago and it's the perfect reading lap. This picture was taken with the black and white setting on my camera. The only editing I did was some rotation (The lamp isn't perfectly straight) and I cropped it. A simple but wonderful picture :)
